Failure, gateway to grace

After Jesus was crucified and raised from the dead, he appeared to his disciples. His first words to them were, "Peace be with you."

The word grace means "unmerited favour." When someone loves you unconditionally, without regard for your behaviour in return, it can become a powerful force in your life. such was the case for the disciples when Jesus appeared to them after his death and resurrection. They could have expected reprimand. Instead they received unconditional love and acceptance. He was as overjoyed to see them as they were to see him.

Jesus understands that we need to fail him as a part of our training as disciples. Failure allows us to experience the incredible grace that will transform us as human beings.
